We'd not had much time together and the last time we'd met, we had no privacy, other than quite circumspect kiss and cuddle in the car.
And now we had several hours together...
He generously had another look at my leaking radiator in the dining room and brought me a present of Redex - a petrol additive that would hopefully keep my throttle clear
The least I could do was take him to lunch. Being the romantics we are, we went to 'our' place - a local greasy spoon for the irresistible bacon, egg and chips.
And so to bed...
Except his shoulder's playing up, as are my sinuses and I have aches in strange places as I'd done a physical training session the day before. The groans as we gingerly rearranged the pillows and found comfortable spots were down to infirmity rather than passion.
There is something very lovely about skin to skin contact and togetherness with someone you love, even when you feel a wreck. And to our delight he found a way of distracting me and we both managed to forget our aches and pains for a little while before drifting away with birdsong and Bach...
