Heart Failure in Tesco's....

by pollygarter @ Thursday, Jun. 21, 2007 - 14:33:48

...OK - bit of an exaggeration, but bl**dy scary!

My regular readers will recall that I had my purse stolen a little while back.

I was in Tesco's with my lover (it's all thrills and spills being a mistress!:)) )when I thought about my Tesco savings account and then realised I didn't have my savings card because my purse had been stolen. And then I realised that with said card it would have been possible to simply withdraw all my savings!88|88|88|

Nice lady in Tesco's let me use phone to cancel card, but I was unable to check my balance as although I know where I live and where I was born and even my mother's maiden name I didn't know my PIN as I never use it outside house.

I had to get home before I could check everything was OK and luckily it was - Phew!:)

That type of memory jogging is akin to flash-backs. I am glad you were not on your own when it happened. It's horrible and I do sympathise. Presumably if a pin was required to access the money, whoever stole your purse couldn't get at your funds unless there's a ways of hacking in online or spending on the internet. I am glad though, that all was well. :)

It was horrific. The irony was I needed my PIN to get info on status of my account, but not to draw out money - it's just a signature at any Tesco store - hence the heart failure moment! With details I knew I got card stopped and requested new one, but activity of account and balance not poss without the magic number!

A bit of an 'all's well that ends well' moment.

Absolutely! It's just that I had to wait a while to find out that all was OK...
