peaceful and easy...

by pollygarter @ Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 - 00:31:36

...these are days that The Eagles song 'Peaceful, Easy Feeling' seem to sum up. The need to be together quietly although there is background awareness of uncertainty.
I was working last night so my lover brought me a cup of tea in bed and then did my housework - Bliss! and then - more bliss - we just snuggled down together for a couple of hours. I love passion. But I also love 'peaceful and easy' and kindness and consideration and everydaynesses.

"Peaceful Easy Feeling"

I like the way your sparkling earrings lay,
against your skin, it's so brown
and I wanna sleep with you
in the desert tonight
with a billion stars all around
'cause I gotta peaceful easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the
ground
And I found out a long time ago
what a woman can do to your soul
Ah, but she can't take you anyway
You don't already know how to go
and I gotta peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
I get this feeling I may know you
as a lover and a friend
but this voice keeps whispering
in my other ear, tells me
I may never see you again
'cause I get a peaceful, easy feeling
and I know you won't let me down
'cause I'm already standing on the ground
'cause I'm already standing...
on the ground
oooo, oooo

Love Under milkwood. I have CD of Richard Burton narrating it - Fabulous!

Unlike the original Polly Garter I don't have lots of babies, but I liked her style.

Yes, I had period of being born-again virgin - I know how it feels! lol

Yes I've got a taped from the radio copy too with Richard Burton...have lots of jokes with my dad about Dai Bread one and two and putting their pyjamas in the drawer marked pyjamas when my mum gets too bossy! It is wonderful.

Yes, I think all in Blogland must be a bit envious. At least the one without relationships.

that's a positive thought for me, when feeling deprived (like today)Thank you!
One of my best friends pointed out I get his quality time and she's right.

I'm beginning to think I could write a book on mistresses. I've known a few. There's different categories of them, I think. Since Ern, I don't want to be a mistress again; I was only officially going out with a married man for 10 weeks because then he left his wife. They'd been married 24 years, his leaving was much more to do with a mid-life crisis than it was to do with me. Bonnie was in love with Guy but he's now back in his 'unhappy' (he said) marriage. At 29 I was crazy about a married man but I was stupid and frightened and I never slept with him. It's the most think I regret. If I could change things I would have had an affair with him and got pregnant but this is being wise after the (non)event. I know a West Indian girl who's very much the 'kept woman' of a much-older multi-millionaire. She's got 2 kids now and her own mansion, I think she's done all right although last I heard she's still pining because she's not his wife. And there was Camilla, it worked out for her.

goodness! Well this is my first time and started in my late forties. my former speciality was a rather civilised serial monogomy with a fabulous little bout of onenight stands in my thirties.
I can't imagine being a 'kept woman' having always been financially independent in and out of relationships.

I don't think financial independence is all it's cracked up to be. I've always been bloomin' financially independent too. Now I've got to find 200 pounds council tax! I'd be a kept woman given the chance.

lolol As my professional life has had some interruption and I now have a guaranteed income of only £450 a month perhaps I should rethink. Shame my beloved isn't rich and has a wife - back to thre drawing board... :>>
