I was so busy looking at the ground wondering when my daffs would be through, I somehow missed the progress of the blossoming trees. I got off bus this week to a pink storm and hadn't even noticed the buds, before the trees were in full glory. And my lover was also amazed at my tree-lined street turning pink and white apparently overnight.
My daffs are finally through - a month later than last year, but I've had the consolation of £1 bunches of daffs brightening up my home the past few weeks. Every bunch seems very different and distinct from the classic large all yellow garden variety. one bunch was strongly fragranced, one was more nacissi-like with small flowers and yellow centres with creamy petals. My latest bunch are small flowers with lots of 'frill' and shaded from cream to yellow. As they are sold in packs of buds, they are a wonderful surprise each time.
